No. The protection is structural — woven into the fibre — so it survives the wash cycle. Skip the fabric softener, which coats the yarn.

Covered arms in a breathable weave run cooler than bare skin in direct sun. It is ultra-light polyester built to move air and pull sweat off the skin.

Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, no fabric softener and no bleach. That is the whole routine.
